M6i's objective is to add strong value to our clients lives. One very tangible form is providing advice for mindful & timely decisions about the economic climate, informed by lots of practice, especially when the fog rolls in.

The economy can be volatile and bears directly on our clients retirement and estate plans. Capital markets follow an economy’s lead. The froth of macro economic speculation creates obligations that must be paid. The dotcom bubble bursting in 2000. The lender and borrower excesses inflating the residential housing bubble that were highly visible while they built from 2003 to 2007, and then the global economic collapse that came from it with 2008’s Great Recession. The pandemic onset in March 2020 and the abyss of uncertainty re: job security and global economic stability. The Fed’s aggressive rate hike cycle starting in 2022, meant to halt a hot inflationary response by industry to labor and supply shortages. Further amplified by the myth of the ‘inevitable’ recession that was always 6 months away, per ‘the data’ of the past’s fortune telling. It consistently did not arrive.

Each of these events was a seismic investment opportunity. We were there for each of them, advising clients on how to play offense and defense amidst the economic wind storms. These experiences are cumulative. They lay bare behavioral characteristics and patterns of business, governments and capital markets that repeat, if you’re tuned to them.

M6i’s lens is informed by a three decade career interacting with the capital markets, while serving the investor and executive leadership of publicly traded companies. We’ve been a CPA on staff of KPMG and the US Securities & Exchange Commission’s Corporate Finance Division. At the SEC, we oversaw the deluge of new companies coming to market via IPO’s, when the dotcom bubble was built. Then we advised CFO’s of publicly traded companies on transactional finance, while they witnessed their share value collapse through no fault of their own, under the fallout of a very visible banking risk profile, culminating in the Great Recession of 2008. In 2022, we advised our Wealth Management clients the widely predicted post pandemic economic recession was misguided because the green infra spend and the depleted labor pool would assure business investment spending, wages and jobs would not melt under the weight of a wise Fed’s careful rate hike cycle.

Our model is to confer this practice history and its knowledge upon our clients, to aid them in their decision making. We give you our breadth of vision and experience to guide your decisions down the paths you choose, in good stead. We understand the strategic decision making process of governments and business that create value for industry and its sectors. Ours is not a cookbook of commoditized decisions about the economy and capital markets and their impact on our clients.
